The Minister of State for Education and Sports in charge of Sports,Hon. Peter Ogwang, has issued a strong and unequivocal directive to all schools across the nation, warning them against denying candidates the opportunity to sit for their final examinations.
The Minister stressed that education is a fundamental right and that no learner should be barred from examinations under any circumstances.
The Minister’s powerful message was delivered by his representative, Joseph Aluca at Apero Primary School in Magoro Town Council, Toroma County.
This was during a colourful spiritual ceremony where the Bishop of Soroti Catholic Diocese, His Lordship Bishop Eciru Oliach, was presiding over the Confirmation of 298 children into the Catholic faith at St. Simon Magoro Mission as hundreds of Christians were in attendance.
In his address, Hon. Ogwang was categorical that all children must remain in school and be allowed to sit their examinations without any form of disruption, and called upon the public to report any person who attempts to sabotage the exercise.
“All children must be at school and do exams without being interrupted and whoever interrupts should be reported to the relevant authorities immediately,” Hon. Ogwang stated.
The ceremony blended faith and education, underscoring the critical role of both spiritual and academic nurturing in shaping responsible citizens.
