The Minister of State for Education and Sports (Sports) and PLU Coordinator for Teso Sub-region, Hon. Peter Ogwang, has hit back hard at his accuser, slapping one Engeku Julius with a Shs. 500 million defamation notice over alleged malicious lies.

Through his lawyers, E. Wamimbi Advocates & Solicitors of Plot 3 Archer Road, Unicalo House – Kololo, 1st Floor, P.O. Box 26933, Kampala, the Minister in a formal notice dated 27th October, 2026 Ref: EWA/GEN/161/2026, accuses Engeku of publishing a defamatory TikTok video claiming that about five years ago during Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s visit to Teso, he advanced Shs. 20,000,000/= to the Minister through intermediaries.

Hon. Ogwang categorically denies the claim, stating he has no knowledge of any such transaction.

His lawyers argue the video is false, malicious and defamatory, carefully crafted to paint the Minister as dishonest and to expose him to public ridicule, contempt and reputational injury.

They have now issued three tough demands:

1. Immediately remove the defamatory video from TikTok;

2. Publish a factual clarification with equal prominence;

3. Deliver an unequivocal written apology by 30th October, 2026.

Failure to comply, the law firm warns, will trigger immediate legal proceedings seeking Shs. 500,000,000/= (Five Hundred Million) in damages plus interest and costs.
