SOROTI HIIGH COURT-The High Court in Soroti has struck out two supplementary affidavits filed by Peter Edeku in the election petition challenging his election as Member of Parliament for Dakabela County.
Justice Melody Giramina ruled that the affidavits were filed out of time and therefore could not be admitted as part of the case.
The court has scheduled the scheduling conference and hearing of the election petition for October 13, 2026.
Lead counsel for petitioner Harriet Anyimo, Innocent Okong, says he remains confident of victory, citing what he describes as sufficient evidence to support their case.
Meanwhile, Harriet Anyimo says she remains hopeful that justice will prevail, paving the way for her to enter Parliament and serve the people of Dakabela.
She continues to put her trust in God, saying the Almighty will not let her or the people of Dakabela down.
Peter Edeku, who was present in court alongside some of his supporters, could not be reached for comment as he was engaged with his supporters after the court session.
