Ngariam, Katakwi —Christians of Acanga Church of Uganda in Ngariam Sub-County have received a major donation from their area Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Education and Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang.

Hon. Ogwang, who was represented by his Personal Assistant Malinga Michael and Parish Political Coordinators, donated 250 iron sheets , cement, a brand new Bajaj Boxer motorcycle to support pastoral work, and financial support for church functions aimed at spreading the word of God.

The donation was officially received by Rev. Omado on behalf of the congregation.

Speaking on behalf of the Christians, Mrs. Amodoi Mary, the Chairperson of the Mothers Union, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Minister for his continued support to the church.

“We thank Hon. Ogwang for remembering God’s house. These iron sheets will help us roof our church, and the motorcycle will make it easy for our Reverend to reach Christians who are far. May God bless him abundantly for his generosity and love for the work of God,” Amodoi Mary said.

While addressing the congregation, Malinga Michael delivered the Minister’s message, encouraging Christians and the entire community to join the new political movement, the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), led by the General Chairman. He informed the congregation that Hon. Ogwang is the PLU Coordinator for the Teso Region.

Malinga further called upon elected political leaders and other government workers to work together and distance themselves from propaganda that causes division.

The church leadership said the support comes at a time when the church is working hard to complete construction and expand evangelism activities in the sub-county.
